Grounds for and purposes of processing personal data

The processing of personal data is based on Article 6(1)(c) of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (2016/679). The processing of personal data is necessary for the performance of our statutory tasks.

We receive information from Kela if a recipient of earnings-related daily allowance or his or her spouse is granted home care allowance under the Act on Support for Home Care and Private Care of Children.

We also have the right to obtain from the Tax Administration, free of charge and without prejudice to confidentiality provisions and other restrictions on access to information, information on the income of unemployment benefit recipients that is necessary to investigate abuse of unemployment benefits.

For the purpose of processing the benefit claim and for monitoring purposes, we obtain wage data from the National Register of Income.

Who processes your personal data and with whom can we share your personal data?

Our staff’s right to process members’ personal data is determined by the authorisation to use it in accordance with the job description.

External service providers authorised by us may also process personal data on a limited basis. They process data on our behalf and for our account. In such situations, we will enter into a binding agreement between the parties for the processing of personal data, taking into account data protection and confidentiality requirements. Ownership of the data is never transferred from us to a third party and the third party has no right to use the data beyond the scope of the mandate.

In principle, we do not transfer data outside the European Union or the European Economic Area. The external doors of our production premises are covered by a control system. The access of employees is controlled by means of an access control system. The users of the register are subject to a confidentiality agreement and are therefore not allowed to pass on the information they process.
