Impact of Independence Day on payment dates

This year, Independence Day falls on a Friday, making it a public holiday. This may affect when your earnings-related daily allowance will be in your account.

When we pay you an earnings-related daily allowance, the money will be in your account within two bank days. A bank day is a day when the bank is open and can help to process the payment. A public holiday is not a bank day, so a public holiday at the time of payment will change the time taken to transmit the payment.

In practice, a bank day means that if we send you a payment on a Tuesday, for example, the money will be in your account within two working days on Thursday. If we send you a payment on Thursday, the money will not be in your account until Monday, because Saturday and Sunday are not bank days.

This year, Independence Day 6.12.2024 is Friday. When Friday is not a bank day, this will affect the deferral of the payment.
