The Spring 2025 Member Pulse collected almost 20 000 responses thank you to everyone who responded! Your responses and feedback will guide us to continue to be the best unemployment fund in the world, just for you.

Member pulse visible in the media

Twice a year, we ask our members for feedback through the Member Pulse survey. We ask about their experiences of our services and their views on issues such as working life, unemployment and the economy. We also want to understand the customer experience of our members.

Almost 20,000 members respond regularly – thank you! Because of the topical issues and the high number of respondents, the results of the Member Pulse are also of interest to the media. The results of the Member Pulse are often published in newspapers, on radio and television.

In respondents’ assessments, the YTK performed well across a range of areas

Once again, we were particularly pleased with the friendliness of our customer service, which was highly commended. Friendly service is an important value for us, as it promotes smooth communication and builds a trusting relationship.

Many respondents felt that our service is prompt and that membership offers good value for money. The majority of respondents also expressed their intention to continue as a member.

Criticism was particularly voiced about the negative decisions on daily allowances and changes in the law that have reduced the amount of the daily allowance.

70% of respondents would be willing to recommend the YTK to their friends – an excellent result and an indication of how a significant part of our growth is based on referrals.

Around 6% of respondents expressed critical views. Their feedback highlighted their dissatisfaction with the level of the earnings-related daily allowance and the length of time taken to process applications. The rules for the daily allowance come from the law and the wage on which it is based from the labour market and are outside our sphere of influence. The length of processing times, on the other hand, is something we can influence and we are constantly taking steps to ensure that we always achieve the best possible result. A major factor is the development of a new system of payments, which, when completed, will speed up processing.

We were particularly praised for the quality of customer service, clear communication and the accessibility of our website.

Job search was very common among respondents to the Member Pulse. The currently unemployed were naturally looking for work, but job search is also common among the employed. What is particularly noteworthy about job search is that job seekers seem to be willing to apply for and receive jobs in a wide range of sectors and also perceive employment as more important in terms of pay. In other words, the oft-repeated public narrative about jobseekers being picky is not reflected in any way in the results of our Member Pulse.

Labour market outlook

Concerns about unemployment are still fairly widespread, but had not increased since last autumn. Instead, the experience of uncertainty has increased. The differences between sectors were quite large. Advertising, marketing and communication services and culture, arts and entertainment are particularly concerned about rising unemployment. In contrast, in sectors such as forestry and legal services, concerns about unemployment were not the main concern.
